The musical voyage of Rashmi Agarwal began with her initial training by Smt. Kamala Bose in her hometown, Allahabad. Under her tutelage, Rashmi's passion for music turned into a lifelong love affair. She pursued Master's degree in vocal music from Allahabad University, under the able guidance of Pt. Ramshray Jha. Then she continued her exploration of Indian music under Smt. Savita Devi, daughter of Smt. Siddheshwari Devi of Benaras Gharana, by her side. Under her guidance, she learnt and imbibed the stylistic techniques of Thumri, Dadra, Chaiti, Kajri and Holi. Currently, she is mastering the nuances of Ghazal singing under the guidance of Padmashree Smt. Shanti Hiranand. Rashmi has made her music more wholesome by adding Sufi and Bhakti singing in her repertoire. The clarity in her diction and the deep tenor in her voice have enthralled many a listener across India. Connoisseurs and critics have lauded her various stage performances. Rashmi has performed all over India and also abroad, which includes places like New York, Kentucky and Michigan in the U.S.A.
